Your adventure begins at 06:00 AM as we depart from the bustling city of Johannesburg and head toward Mpumalanga, aptly named “the place where the sun rises.”
Our first stop is the charming town of Dullstroom, known for its crystal-clear dams, fly fishing, and serene outdoor atmosphere. Here, we’ll take a short break to stretch our legs and enjoy some refreshments before continuing our journey.
Next, we explore one of South Africa’s most spectacular natural landmarks—the Blyde River Canyon. Spanning 26 kilometers, this is the third-largest canyon in the world, following the Grand Canyon in the U.S. and the Fish River Canyon in Namibia. Unlike the others, the Blyde River Canyon is lush and green, covered in subtropical vegetation, making it one of the largest “green” canyons on Earth.
We’ll also visit the iconic God’s Window, a breathtaking viewpoint perched high above the Lowveld. From this vantage point just north of Graskop, you’ll take in sweeping views of the landscape below, including parts of the Blyde River Canyon.
Nearby, we’ll stop at the Berlin Falls, the highest waterfall in Mpumalanga, offering another spectacular natural sight in close proximity to God’s Window.
Another highlight is Bourke’s Luck Potholes, a fascinating geological attraction formed by centuries of water erosion. These cylindrical rock formations are best explored via walkways and bridges that offer stunning views and photo opportunities.
Before the day ends, we visit the Three Rondavels—three iconic, round mountain peaks that resemble traditional African rondavel huts. According to local legend, the flat-topped peak represents Mapjaneng, a tribal chief who fought off Swazi invaders, while the three surrounding peaks are said to symbolize his three troublesome wives: Magabolle, Mogoladikwe, and Maseroto.
After a full day of sightseeing along the famous Panorama Route, we make our way to Hazyview, where you’ll check into your overnight accommodation and enjoy a relaxing evening in preparation for the next day’s safari adventure.

Awaken at dawn to the soothing sounds of birdsong as the African bush comes alive. After a quick coffee or tea, we set out from the lodge at 5:00 AM to begin an unforgettable day in Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations.
Our goal: to track and hopefully spot the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—as they roam freely through the park. Early mornings are the best time to see these majestic animals before they retreat into the bush to escape the midday heat.
After a few hours of game viewing, we pause for a hearty breakfast before heading to a nearby waterhole. This is the perfect spot to watch hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species, including vultures, eagles, and storks, in their natural habitat.
The Kruger National Park is a vast and diverse ecosystem, home not only to the Big Five but also to hundreds of other mammals and birds. From mountains and bush plains to tropical forests, the park’s landscapes are as varied as its wildlife.
Around midday, we’ll stop at one of the park’s popular rest camps—Skukuza, located on the banks of the Sabie River—for a well-deserved lunch and a chance to relax.
In the afternoon, we continue our safari, keeping a lookout for more incredible wildlife sightings and soaking in the ever-changing scenery. As the sun begins to set, we make our way back to the lodge around 5:00 PM, where you can unwind, take a refreshing swim, or simply sit back and reflect on the day’s experiences.
Spend the evening reviewing your photos, sharing stories, and reliving the magical moments of your Kruger safari.
